India’s Quest for Sustainable Development

In a brilliant exposition, the key aspects of sustainable development and environmental challenges were covered by Dr. Prodipto Ghosh, Distinguished Fellow, TERI & former Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests during his lecture on June 03, 2011 at New Delhi.  He was addressing senior industry executives on ‘India’s Quest for Sustainable Development: Economic, Social and Environmental Dimensions’ under PetroFed’s series of Guest Lectures and Thought Leadership programmes.

The day had been chosen because the World Environment Day which is celebrated on 5th June was a Sunday.  Dr. Ghosh brought the audience up-to-date on the global and Indian challenges, beginning with the definition of sustainable development and environment.

The extent of interest aroused was evident from the extended floor participation.
