A healthy exchange of ideas was held on the regional oil & gas industry, and crude oil market in particular with the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan at PetroFed office on February 4, 2010. The Senior Economist, JIME Center (Centre for Middle Eastern Economics Study), Mr. Yasuhiko Nagata discussed the sharp swings of the crude oil price affect on the economies of both consumer and producer countries in connection with a study assigned to their Institute by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan.
At the invitation of PetroFed the meeting was also attended by Mr. A. K. Tiwari, General Manager (E&P), IndianOil and Mr. S. N. Sukhwal, Dy. General Manager (CP&ES), IndianOil. Mr. Nagata also broached the subject of measures to stabilise the crude oil price and the market and what could be considered as appropriate levels for the same.
