Review of World Energy

Tracing the role of oil & gas in the global economy during the past few decades Prof. B. B. Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University & eminent economist gave a brilliant overview of the changing world economy.  He was chairing a ‘Review of World Energy 2010’ by Mr. Christof Ruehl, Group Chief Economist, BP Plc in the evening of July 5, 2010 at New Delhi.

Earlier Mr. A. K. Arora, Director General, PetroFed while welcoming participants exhorted corporates to work towards carbon neutrality, enhanced usage of renewables and judicious use of fossil fuels.

A comprehensive analysis of the global energy scenario during 2009 with details of key fuels was presented by Mr. Christof Ruehl, Group Chief Economist, BP Plc.

The presentation was followed by an extended Q&A session. The event was widely appreciated by senior officials present from industry, chambers of commerce, government and media.

A vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sashi Mukundan, Country Head (India), BP.
