In its continuing endeavour to provide opportunity to teaching faculty to upgrade their knowledge, the Petroleum Federation of India, in its series of Industry Academia Interface, organised a three-day residential workshop on ‘Transportation of Oil & Gas through Pipelines’ from July 8-10, 2009 jointly with Lovraj Kumar Memorial Trust (LKMT) and the IndianOil Institute of Petroleum Management who also hosted the boarding and lodging for the participants. A study tour was organised to the Mathura – Jalandhar Pipeline (MJPL) Terminal of IndianOil at Bijwasan on day two of the workshop.
The 13 lectures delivered by industry experts were attended by 13 teaching faculty members from seven AICTE approved Engineering Colleges of four states.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. B.M. Bansal, Director (P&BD), IndianOil and was also addressed by Director (R&D), IndianOil, Mr. Anand Kumar and Director Designate (Pipelines), IndianOil, Mr. K.K. Jha, besides Mr. J.P. Kapur and Mr. I.B. Gulati, Trustees, LKMT and DG, PetroFed, Mr. A.K. Arora. The dignitaries and participants were welcomed by Mr. K.K. Gupta, ED, IIPM. A vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. S.L. Das, Director (BD & C), PetroFed.
The participants rated the overall effectiveness of the programme at 90%.
