In a lecture packed with information and analysis, the global regime on climate change leading to the Durban Conference was brought out brilliantly by Dr. Prodipto Ghosh, Distinguished Fellow, TERI and former Secretary, Ministry of Environment & Forests on January 9, 2012 at New Delhi. Organised under PetroFed’s series of Guest Lectures and Thought Leadership Programmes, the lecture brought out the various dimensions of the climate change negotiations as they have unfolded from time to time. He dwelt in detail on the Durban platform, the Green Climate Fund, the negotiations for a comprehensive Long Term Cooperative Action, and the political ramifications thereof.
Dr. Prodipto Ghosh has been regularly updating us on issues of climate change since he is a member of Prime Minister’s Council on Climate Change as well as the member of the National Expert Committee of Climate Change besides assisting the Government in preparations for the global climate change negotiations, and helping prepare India’s National Climate Change Action Plan.
The extended floor participation demonstrated the interest generated by his lecture.
