The Embassy of The Philippines had sought an industry dialogue through the aegis of PetroFed to bring out areas of mutual cooperation and investment in the oil & gas sector with focus on renewable sources of energy.

Her Excellency the Ambassador of Philippines Ms. Laura Q. Del Rosario and Hon'ble Mr. Vincent S. Perez, former Secretary / Minister of Energy of Philippines were welcomed at PetroFed office on April 13, 2006 by Director General, PetroFed, Sh. A.K. Arora. After a brief introduction about PetroFed, a presentation giving an overview of Indian Oil & Gas Scenario and the opportunities it offers was made by Sh. Deepak Mahurkar, Associate Director, PwC, a member company & knowledge partner of PetroFed. Presentations were thereafter made on Ethanol by Dr. R.K. Malhotra, GM, IOCL (R&D) and Sh. Jai Uppal, Advisor (Renewable Energy), Winrock International India. Sh. Jai Uppal also made a presentation on Biodiesel. A presentation on Solar Energy was made by Sh. Rahul Kshetrapal, Tata BP Solar. The presentation of Sh. N.R. Raje, Former Director (R&D), IOCL and Advisor Lubrizol India Pvt. Ltd. which could not be completed because of paucity of time can be viewed on this website.

Mr. Vincent S. Perez, thereafter, made succint presentations on the opportunities in Philippines in the oil and gas & renewable energy areas which were received by Indian Oil & Gas industry members with great enthusiasm. He also answered a host of questions from participants. The meeting, termed as very fruitful, by Her Excellency the Ambassador of Philippines concluded with a vote of thanks to the honoured guests by PetroFed.
