Pipeline Conference |
The complexities and range of problems arising in modern times in laying of oil & gas pipelines were brought to fore by Mr. K. K. Jha, Director (Pipelines), IndianOil while inaugurating the second India Oil & Gas Pipeline Infrastructure Conference 2011 on September 16, 2011 at New Delhi.
Organised on the theme ‘Changing Dynamics in Oil & Gas Pipelines’ by ASAPP Media Information Group in association with PetroFed, the conference covered in three technical sessions - the design and technology advancements; pipeline integrity, mitigation and O&M practices and a panel discussion on the ‘challenges in execution of pipeline projects’.
The historical perspective of pipeline transportation was brilliantly brought out in his theme address by Mr. K. K. Sinha, CEO and Director, Essar Ports and Terminals Limited. Participants were earlier welcomed by Mr. Shashidhar Nanjundaiah, Group Executive Editor, ASAPP Media Information Group.
The two technical sessions were chaired by Mr. P. Mahajan, Director (Technical), Engineers India Limited and Mr. P. K. Chakraborti, former Director (Pipelines), IndianOil. The panel discussion was chaired by Mr. V. S. Okhde, Executive Director (E&P), IndianOil. There were five speakers in the first session and four in the second besides four panelists in the last session, who brought out the challenges in virtually all aspects of oil & gas pipelines.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. S. S. Ramgarhia, Director (Policy & Planning), PetroFed.
