PetroFed officials, led by the Director General Sh. A.K. Arora welcomed on January 21, 2011 the new Union Cabinet Minister and Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas on their taking over office.
The ministers were presented with a set of our key publications as well as a profile. The activities of PetroFed were explained.

Profile of Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister

Sh. S. Jaipal Reddy, 69, took over as Union Cabinet Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas on January 20, 2011. He was earlier Union Cabinet Minister for Urban Development since 2005 and Union Cabinet Minister for Information and Broadcasting during 2004-05.
A post graduate in English and a Bachelor of Journalism from Osmania University, he has held various assignments during a political career spanning 46 years. He was earlier an active student leader and was elected twice as President, Osmania Students Union, Osmania University. He was Andhra Pradesh Youth Congress President during 1965-71 and General Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee during 1969-72. He has been elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for four terms during 1969 to 1984. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha and was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009 for the 5th term.
He is a recipient of the ‘Outstanding Parliamentarian’ Award in 1998. Widely travelled, he is fond of reading.
Profile of Hon’ble Union Minister of State

Sh. R.P.N. Singh, 47, took over as Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Corporate Affairs on January 21, 2011. He was earlier Union Minister of State for Road, Transport and Highways after his election to the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009.
An Honours graduate in History from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, Mr. Singh has been a member of the UP Legislative Assembly for three terms (1996, 2007, 2009). He was President of UP Youth Congress from 1997 to 1999 and Secretary A.I.C.C. from 2003 to 2006.
He is widely travelled and is fond of reading, sports and travelling.
