Energy Think Tank Meeting on E& P |
PetroFed hosted a meeting of the Energy Think Tank under the Chairmanship of former Secretary, MoP&NG Sh. T.N.R. Rao on April 22, 2008 to deliberate issues on Exploration & Production with focus on natural gas / LNG.
The Energy Think Tank Convenor, Sh. J. S. Oberoi welcomed members and invitees besides the speakers of the day. The ETT Chairman, Sh. T.N.R. Rao stressed on the need for the country to focus on gas / LNG which is being considered as the fuel of the 21st century.
A presentation was made on the Gas Outlook with focus on the Indian scenario by Sh. Y. B. Sinha, who was earlier Director (Exploration), ONGC and Director, Petronet LNG (to view presentation click link given below).
Thereafter, a presentation was made by Sh. A.P. Verghese, ED (LNG), IndianOil on a path breaking technology innovation project of providing LNG at the customer’s doorstep without a pipeline through cryogenic containers. The breakthrough innovation to super cool natural gas has changed, and has the potential to revolutionise, natural gas usage and marketing in the country (click link below to view presentation).
Both presentations were hotly discussed by the experts present and future discussions were deferred to next meeting after the visit to the LNG terminal at Dahej.
