Economic Growth & Energy Security for India in the Global Context

In a brilliant extempore address the eminent economist and Vice-Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Prof. B.B. Bhattacharya, analysed the global economic balance, trends in economic growth and issues of energy security for India at a lecture organized by PetroFed in association with Lovraj Kumar Memorial Trust and IndianOil at the latter’s Auditorium at New Delhi.   He was earlier introduced by IndianOil Chairman, Sh. B.M. Bansal who chaired the proceedings and emphasized on Energy Security in the Global Context.

Earlier, welcoming participants Sh. A.K. Arora, Director General, PetroFed pointed out that energy security does not equate energy independence and only means efficient marshalling of all available energy resources, within the country or outside the country for optimum use.

The interest aroused was evident by the extended floor participation from the nearly 100 participants.
