Industry Academia Interface - Haldia |
In its continuing endeavour to provide opportunity to teaching faculty to upgrade their knowledge, the Petroleum Federation of India in its series of Industry Academia Interface organised a four-day residential workshop on ‘ Refining & Petrochemicals’ from May 25-28,2010 jointly with Lovraj Kumar Memorial Trust (LKMT) & Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Haldia Refinery) at IndianOil Management Academy (IMA), Haldia, West Bengal. A study tour was also organized to the Haldia Refinery and Haldia Petrochemicals on May 28,2010.
The 14 lectures delivered by industry experts were attended by 20 teaching faculty members from various AICTE approved Engineering Colleges / Universities in the states of West Bengal ,Jharkhand & Orissa .There was no participation fee and they were provided complimentary boarding & lodging by IMA.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. A.K.Roy ,Executive Director,Haldia Refinery ,IOCL. Mr. Hirak Dutta,GM(T) Haldia Refinery welcomed the participants and invitees and Mr. S.R.Ghosh ,Head,Haldia Petrochemicals addressed the gathering as the Guest of Honour.
An introduction to the programme was given by Mr. S.L.Das, Director(BD&C),PetroFed and Mr. A.K.Arora,Trustee,LKMT& DG,PetroFed delivered the Presidential Address.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.O.P.Arora ,Principal IMA.
The participants rated the overall effectiveness of the programme at 85%.
