‘The Cancun Agreements have reignited faith in the multilateral climate change process and created an opportunity for all’, said Dr. Basudev Mohanty, Director, PPAC, while chairing a lecture by Prof. B.B. Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University at New Delhi on December 27, 2010. The lecture was organised by Petroleum Federation of India in its continuing series of Guest Lectures and thought leadership programmes.
In a stimulating extempore address Prof. Bhattacharya drew out the multitude and diversity of actions that may be taken by Government across the world as a result of the Cancun Agreements. All such actions would have diverse economic ramifications, be they result from changing technologies or other economic measures.
The lecture evinced keen interest as was demonstrated by the extended Q&A session.
