The Gulf of Mexico disaster has raised new dimensions of risk assessment and management said Dr. B. Mohanty, Director, PPAC while chairing a lecture session on ‘Enterprise Risk Management’ on July 28, 2010 at New Delhi.
The lecture by Mr. David Traylor, a principal of Deloitte & Touche LLP at Houston, was organised under PetroFed’s ongoing series of Guest Lectures and Thought Leadership Programmes. Mr. Traylor, on a brief visit to India is a registered professional engineer holding degrees in hydraulic and petroleum reservoir disciplines and is one of Deloitte’s Enterprise Risk Management experts.
Mr. Traylor drew extensively on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill incident to highlight the importance of deepwater production, risk intelligence imperatives and the potential operational risk management enhancements.
The immense interest of the over three score participating executives from the oil & gas sector was evident in the extended Q&A session.
