ETT Meeting |
The Petroleum Federation of India hosted a meeting of the Energy Think Tank at New Delhi on November 29, 2010 when Mr. S.C. Tripathi, former Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Mr. P.S. Bami, former CMD, NTPC presented a perspective on the comparative energy scenario in India & China, including scope for cooperation between the two countries.
The perspective was based on inputs during a visit to China of a delegation of the India Energy Forum, led by Mr. Tripathi in July 2010 to attend a seminar on ‘Energy & Environment Challenges – Perspective from India & China’ organized by Asia-Africa Development Research Institute, China.
The participants were earlier welcomed by the Convenor, Energy Think Tank, Mr. J.S. Oberoi. A healthy debate followed the perspective presented by the two speakers wherein detailed comments were offered by Mr. Anil Razdan, former Secretary, Ministry of Power, Dr. C.R. Prasad, Chairman, Everest Power & former CMD, GAIL, Mr. S.K. Manglik, former CMD, ONGC, Mr. C. Ratnam, former CMD, Oil India, Mr. M.S. Ramachandran, former Chairman, IndianOil, Dr. I.B. Gulati, former Director, IIP and Mr. B.K. Bakhshi, former Chairman, IndianOil.
The programme concluded with observations by the Chairman of the Energy Think Tank, Mr. T.N.R. Rao, former Secretary, MoP&NG.
