"PetroFed Training Brochure Released at India – Africa Hydrocarbon Conference" |
The PetroFed brochure on Training Capabilities in the Indian Oil & Gas Sector was released by the Hon’ble Minister for External Affairs, Sh. Pranab Mukherjee at the first India-Africa Hydrocarbon Conference and Exhibition at New Delhi on November 6, 2007. The Hon’ble Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sh. Murli Deora, the Hon’ble Minister for State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sh. Dinsha Patel, the Secretary for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sh. M. S. Srinivasan and H.E. Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz, the Hon’ble Minister for Energy and Mining, Republic of Sudan were present on the occasion.
The conference was organized by the Federation of Indian chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural and Natural Gas with support of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). PetroFed rendered active assistance in drawing up and finalising the programme and exhibition.
Over two dozen countries from the African Continent and nearly a score of Ministerial delegates participated in the two day conference. The first plenary session on African Ministerial presentations on country specific overview and opportunities, had Sh. Murli Deora, Hon’ble Union Minister Petroleum and Natural Gas in the Chair and Sh. M. S. Srinivasan , Secretary, MoP&NG as Session chairman and Sh. Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, Indian Oil and Chairman, PetroFed as Session Co-Chair. This was followed by the inauguration of the exhibition by Sh. Dinsha Patel, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas. He also inaugurated the PetroFed Pavilion at the Exhibition.
The PetroFed brochure, “Skills Energised. Potential Maximised”, released at the conference brings out the capabilities of the Indian Oil and Gas companies in imparting training in all facets of the Hydrocarbon Value Chain.
