In its Education and Learning series, Petroleum Federation of India organised a workshop on Value Added Tax (VAT) for ONGC officials at their office on May 07, 2005 . The objective of the workshop was to sensitise middle level managers on various issues emerging from the introduction and adoption of VAT by various states.
A senior team from knowledge partners PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd. (PwC) led by Sh. S. Madhavan, Executive Director & Head – Indirect Tax Practice succinctly brought out key issues relating to the transition from a State Sales Tax regime to the State VAT.
He was assisted by Sh. R. Murlidharan, Senior Manager and Ms. Payal Kapur, Senior Associate. The latter presented the documentation and record keeping requirements under the new VAT regime.
The 35 officials from various offices of ONGC were welcomed to the Learning and Education module by Director General, PetroFed Sh. A.K. Arora. The deliberations aroused lively discussion and various clarifications sought were responded to.
