‘The LP Gas industry has tremendous opportunities to contribute to a cleaner, healthier and more prosperous world’, said Mr. Sarthak Behuria, President, World LP Gas Association during his opening remarks at the 23rd Forum at Madrid on September 29, 2010. The Conference & Exhibition under the theme ‘LP Gas : Exceptional Energy’ was combined with the European LP Gas Association and the Ibero-American LP Gas Association’s annual events along with a half-day dedicated to sub-Saharan Africa themes and a full day focusing on technological innovation.
Mr. Behuria earlier chaired the Board meeting and addressed the General Body of the World LP Gas Association for the second year in succession as the first Asian President of the Association with over 180 members operating in more than 90 countries. After the formal opening ceremony, Mr. Behuria accompanied H.R.H. the Prince of Asturias, the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade for Spain Mr. Miguel Sebastian and the Secretary of State for Climate Change for Spain Ms. Teresa Ribera for a round of the exhibition.
A brilliant presentation was made on ‘Indian LPG Market Prospects’ by Mr. Apurva Chandra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas during the session on ‘Global Outlook for LP Gas’. The presentation aroused considerable interest in the international audience.
PetroFed, Director (Communication & Marketing) Mr. Y. Sahai attended the conference as a member of the Global Auto Industry Network (GAIN) and the Global Technology (GLOTEC) meetings. IndianOil’s Director (Marketing) Mr. G.C. Daga presented his views as Industry Council Member. The conference was also attended by the LPG Heads and senior officials of IOCL, BPCL & HPCL besides several exhibitors from the country.
