The 8 th Governing Council meeting of PetroFed held at New Delhi on April 28, 2005 welcomed the new members Sh. S.A. Narayan, Director (HR), BPCL and Sh. R.C. Choudhary, Director (Tech.) NRL. Sh. Narayan replaces Sh. S. Behuria, who continues as Chairman, PetroFed on being nominated by IOCL in place of Sh. N.K. Nayyar, Director (Planning & Business Development). Sh. R.C. Choudhary, replaces Sh. A.K.Sarma, G.M. (Prod.) NRL.
The Governing Council placed on record PetroFed's appreciation of the guidance and contribution of Sh. N.K. Nayyar and Sh. A.K. Sarma during their tenure as members of the Governing Council.
The Governing Council also wished Sh.S.Behuria, who has taken over as Chairman, IOCL, success in his new assignment.
The Governing Council noted the withdrawal of membership by M/s UNOCAL and the new membership of M/s Petroleum India International (PII) and Engineers India (EIL) were approved, raising the total strength to 25.
The Governing Council approved renaming of the following three committees
"Guidelines for setting up Retail Outlets on National Highways" to Guidelines for Retail Outlets.
"Review SKO Parallel Marketing Scheme" to SKO Marketing with added focus on consumer interest.
"Review of LPG Parallel Marketing Scheme" to LPG Marketing with added focus on consumer interest.
The Governing Council setup a new committee on ” Alternative Sources of Energy ” with members from RIL, ESSAR, IOC, ONGC, OIL, BPCL, HPCL & GAIL. It was agreed that the conveyer would be from IOC (R&D).
