Under its Guest Lecture series, Petroleum Federation of India organised a talk on ‘WTO matters relating to goods (GATT)' by Shri Agneshwar Sen on April 8, 2005 at New Delhi .
Shri Sen is a member of the Indian negotiating team for WTO negotiations in the Trade Policy Division of the Ministry of Commerce &Industry and has vast experience in Foreign Trade & WTO matters.
The talk covered the entire gamut of the WTO Charter and dwelt at length on matters pertaining to Goods under the General Agreement on Tariff and Trade (GATT). He explained the implications of the Swiss Formula and the Chairman's Formula with particular reference to the oil & gas sector. Shri Sen elucidated on the modalities of negotiations and the procedure followed therefor.
The attendees from member companies and invitees also included members of the PetroFed Group on WTO Matters.
The lecture aroused substantial interest and participants felt that a similar talk should be organised by PetroFed on matters related to General Agreement for Trade in Services (GATS).
